About the Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters
The Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters is an organization that represents the 1,200 fire fighters and paramedics of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
We are the fire fighters you see on the streets every day.
The Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters represents its members on a wide array of issues, ranging from civil service issues to contract negotiations with the City of Jacksonville.
While the media and politicians would like you to believe otherwise, the Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters has never negotiated pension benefits for its members. In regards to pensions, the pension is managed by the Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund, an independent agency of the City of Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters also raises thousands of dollars every year for local charities. Our main charities include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The March of Dimes, Camp Amigo Burn Camp for kids, and the Jacksonville Miracle League.
In the summer of 2009, the Jacksonville Association of Fire Fighters established the Jacksonville Fire Fighter Charities, a 501(C)3 non-profit orgainzation to give back even more for the community.
